A 22-year-old mother is being held behind bars on a $125,000 bond after she allegedly smoked marijuana before breastfeeding her infant.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office said they were notified of a sick child at the hospital suffering from seizures that had tested positive for marijuana.
When detectives interviewed the mother, Kassidy Rodrigue, they claim she admitted to smoking weed before breastfeeding. She was arrested and is being charged with second-degree cruelty to a juvenile and child desertion.
