Baton Rouge voters head to the polls Saturday to decide whether the local sales tax should be hiked to improve the traffic debacle that's plagued the capital city region for decades.
The ballot proposal from Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome seeks a half-cent increase in the sales tax that is projected to raise a billion dollars over the next 30 years.
Upward of 70 projects will be funded by the revenue generated by everyone who makes purchases in Baton Rouge.
