There will be a little more cha-ching in the pre-Thanksgiving paychecks of the more than five-thousand full-time employees of the East Baton Rouge Parish School District.
Board members Thursday night approved giving each employee an extra $500 in their November 21st paycheck, something that hasn't happened at least a decade and will cost the district almost $4 million.
In addition, the board decided that schools will be closed on election day as a safety measure since dozens of them are used as polling places.
