If you haven't done this already, officials are urging you to put get an emergency storm kit assembled ahead of Tropical Storm Gordon's arrival on the Gulf Coast.
The Governor's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has provided a list of some essentials every household should have stashed away. It includes a flashlight, extra batteries, bottled water, forms of identification, canned food and a non-electric can opener.
They're also advising people to have important paperwork in a portable, waterproof container.
