Tropical Storm Watch Issued For Parts of Gulf Coast

The National Hurricane Center believes we're close to seeing Gordon in the Gulf.

The officially-named "potential tropical cyclone seven" was in-between the Bahamas and Cuba Sunday afternoon and is expected to move into the extreme southeastern Gulf by Monday night as a tropical storm.

A tropical storm watch extends along the Gulf Coast from the Alabama-Florida border westward to just east of Morgan City, including Lake Pontchartrain and Lake Maurepas.

The more immediate impact from the system will be for parts of the Bahamas, south Florida and the Florida Keys as the National Hurricane Center warns of heavy rains and gusty winds for Sunday night and Monday.
