BRPD Officer Involved In Shootout Did Not Have Body Cam On

A police officer did not have his body camera on when an alleged shootout with a suspect happened.

Police Chief Murphy Paul says there was no recorded footage from the confrontation. The police officer involved is on paid leave while the shootout is under investigation.

The Baton Rouge Police Department announced a policy last week that all body cam or in-car footage would be released within 12 days for critical incidents.
