The victim of an apparent homicide in Denham Springs is being identified as 39-year-old Fermin Pecina.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office says the Texas man had been staying in the Baton Rouge area for several weeks and had been reported missing by his family.
His body was discovered around seven Friday morning by a passerby on Hood Road, the coroner saying Pecina died from a single gunshot wound and that he had been dead for at least eight hours.
