Five Baton Rouge School Districts Cancel Coronavirus Student Meal Programs

Baton Rouge school districts are canceling their student meal services.

Ascension, Livingston, St. Helena, St. James and more school districts have canceled their grab and go meal programs for students as the COVID-19 outbreak worsens in Louisiana.

A few districts cited Governor John Bel Edwards' shelter in place order as a reasoning, but his spokeswoman Christina Stephens says it's a big misunderstanding and that schools must continue to operate.

St. Helena and St. James parishes say they shut down services after they found out employees tested positive for COVID-19.
