Tropical Storm Jerry Could Become Hurricane By Thursday

The National Hurricane Center is naming its tenth storm of the season.

Tropical Storm Jerry is about 855 miless east of the Leeward Islands and heading toward those bodies in the northeastern Caribbean.

The storm is expected to strengthen before reaching the northern Leeward Islands Thursday night or Friday.

As of the 10 a.m. local time advisory, Jerry had maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour and was moving west-northwest at about 14 miles per hour.
