Former OLOL Foundation Heads Pleads Guilty For Embezzlement

The former head of the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation is pleading guilty to wire fraud and money laundering charges.

The court will determine penalties for John Paul Funes, charged for taking more than $550,000 from the charity foundation for personal use.

Prosecutors say this includes charter flights and stolen gift cards meant for cancer patients.

Funes' attorney says this is the first step as the man takes responsibility and plans to make "full restitution."

Two former LSU players were also implicated in Funes crime, through payments to Vadal Alexander's father and to Rohan Davey's mother and sister.
