Woody Harrelson to Texas: Ban the Bacon Bash!

Apparently actor Woody Harrelson is not a fan of pork products and hog hunting.

Yesterday Harrelson sent a letter to Texas Governor Greg Abbott urging him to shut down violent "wild hog catch" events like the one near Bandera, Texas

Harrelson was inspired to write the letter after seeing a recent video from PETA depicting the event in a negative light.

Harrelson, a resident of Midland, Texas, wrote, "I have a lot of pride in my home state and…. I was shocked to learn about the cruelty that pigs are subjected to at something called the 'Bacon Bash.'"

Oh, you don't like bacon, huh? Something tells me the vast majority of Texas' 28 million residents don't agree with you on this one, Woody.

Harrelson's letter continues, "This violent spectacle encourages children and adults alike to scare, injure, and torment animals for entertainment."

So... he doesn't like rodeos?

Harrelson wants Abbott to issue an executive order banning this event.

The event that offended Harrelson & his PETA buddies involves contestants chasing pigs and placing them into sacks. As this happens the pigs sequel and run around, which apparently upset the PETA idiots.

So Harrelson thinks it's abusive to force pigs to participate in the event. That's fine. He's entitled to his opinion. Personally I think it's abusive to make people watch Harrelson's movies, but I'm not trying to lobby politicians for an executive order.

If you don't like the Bacon Bash, don't go to the Bacon Bash. It's just good clean fun. Get over it.
