Family Went To Get Flu Shots But Were Mistakenly Given The COVID Jab

A family in Evansville, Indiana says they were mistakenly given the COVID vaccine when they went into a Walgreens pharmacy for a flu shot.

Alexandra and Joshua Price says their two kids, aged four and five years old were also given the adult dose of the COVID vaccine that isn’t even FDA approved for young children.

The family says about 90 minutes after getting the shot, they got a call from Walgreens telling them about the mix up.

The family’s Attorney Daniel Tuley says the two kids have been sick ever since they received the injections.

14News Evansville reports (emphasis added):

"Tuley says the children have been taken to a pediatric cardiologist, and the family was told both are showing signs of heart issues.
“[The cardiologist] said our daughter was having higher blood pressure than she would like,” said Alexandra. “And Lucas, our son was having tachycardia...”
As of Monday, the family says the younger child has been sick with a fever and a cough. Since last week, the family now says the older child has developed a fever.
The family says both children have follow up appointments with their doctor this week."

Tuley says Walgreen later issued vaccination cards for the two kids.

The company released the following written statement to 14News:

“Due to privacy laws, we cannot comment on specific patient events. However, in general, such instances are rare and Walgreens takes these matters very seriously. In the event of any error, our first concern is always our patients’ well-being. Our multi-step vaccination procedure includes several safety checks to minimize the chance of human error and we have reviewed this process with our pharmacy staff in order to prevent such occurrences.”

The Price family has not filed suit yet, Alexandra Price says, “we want them to be held accountable for making not one, but four mistakes that could put our kids lives at risks and we want to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
