Severe Weather Threat Looms Again For South Louisiana

Residents in south Louisiana are once again urged to be on alert for the threat of severe weather mid-week.

The National Weather Service office says a line of strong storms could bring damaging winds and a few tornadoes.

"No one wants another round of dangerous weather, but unfortunately we appear to be facing a serious threat again Wednesday,” said GOHSEP Director Casey Tingle. “A series of threats like we have experienced in recent weeks are not uncommon for the Gulf Coast this time of year. We must remain vigilant when these threats happen."

"Remember, EVERY SPC level says severe storms are possible. The higher risks means more intense storms and 'more' storms. Decide now where you will go if a watch or warning is issued!" said the NWS.

Residents in Arabi are still clean up from last week's tornado, the strongest ever recorded in the New Orleans metro area. Another twister impacted parts of St. Tammany Parish.
