The Louisiana Department of Revenue says the deadline for taxpayers to claim their state tax refunds is this Friday.
The department sent more than 22,000 letters to individuals and businesses alerting them about the unclaimed refunds, which total more than $17 million.
People who got letters can either fill out and return the voucher or go online and provide their information.
The department will mail refund checks to those who respond. Any amounts not refunded will go to the state treasury's Unclaimed Property Division.
