Concerns over the threat of high winds and severe weather have led to the cancellation of parades on Mardi Gras Day in Jefferson Parish.
Officials announced Monday morning that the krewes of Argus and Elks Jeffersonians will not roll.
The National Weather Service office says strong thunderstorms will move through during the afternoon and evening hours. Ahead of the storms, gusty winds are expected.
Officials in New Orleans have yet to make a decision about parades on Tuesday.
