Gov. Jeff Landry's effort to clear homeless people from New Orleans encampments before the Super Bowl is getting some pushback.
Louisiana State Police and officials with the Department of Transportation started clearing the camp under an expressway before dawn on Wednesday. The residents were moved to a new temporary shelter in a warehouse.
People who live nearby are upset that Landry didn't give them any advance notice about the shelter, which will be in operation through the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras.
