Louisiana Sees Record Number Of Early Voters

State officials are reporting that Louisiana has broken its previous in-person early voting record that was set in the 2020 election.

In the early voting period of Oct. 18 to Oct. 29, the Louisiana Secretary of State's Office says nearly 850,000 voters cast their ballots in-person, compared to almost 818,000 in 2020.

Absentee ballots bring the total to more than 960,000 Louisiana voters who cast their ballots before next Tuesday's election.

Officials remind voters that the deadline to request an absentee ballot is November 1 by 4:30 p.m. and it must be received by a registrar of voters by November 4 at 4:30 p.m.

For those who did not take part in early voting, polls on November 5 will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
