The coroner will determine the cause of death for a driver whose body was pulled from a submerged vehicle in East Baton Rouge Parish.
Deputies and the St. George Fire Department diving team responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to a report of a vehicle in a pond near Bluebonnet Blvd. and Harveston Way.
Divers recovered the body of 40-year-old Alex Gonzales-Hernandez from the vehicle, which was sunk in about eight feet of water.
Deputies say he had lost control, run off the road, and crashed through a fence.
