Florida's Big Bend area is seeing one of its largest storms in decades with Helene. The massive system currently fills half of the Gulf of Mexico with a wind field that might eventually span roughly 600 miles.
The director of the National Hurricane Center says some spots on the west coast could see a storm surge that creates an "unsurvivable scenario."
Gov. Ron DeSantis says nearly all of Florida should brace for its impact.
