Officials are identifying a teenager who drowned in Slidell over the weekend.
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner identified the victim as 15-year-old Jeron Magee.
Slidell police say Magee, a student at Salmen High School, jumped into Palm Lake on Saturday afternoon to retrieve a football and didn't resurface.
Police say families should have flotation devices handy if they'll be on or near the water in the coming Memorial Day weekend.
