A special session of the state legislature continues today.

Gov. John Bel Edwards called the session last week to address the homeowners' insurance crisis in Louisiana.

On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Committee sent two bills to the full House of Representatives to place $45 million into the Insure Louisiana Incentive Fund and to limit which companies can participate in it.

After the hurricane seasons of 2020 and 2021, many insurers either went broke or fled the state.

The session continues through Sunday.
