State health officials say coronavirus vaccinations won't be required to attend Louisiana public schools in the upcoming school year.

The Louisiana Department of Health made the announcement on Wednesday, pointing out that the vaccines haven't yet received full approval from the FDA.

But the LDH is still officially recommending vaccinations for all eligible children.

The Pfizer vaccine has FDA authorization for emergency use for children age five and up.
