The parents of an East Feliciana Parish woman are accused of causing her death.

A grand jury on Monday indicted Clay and Sheila Fletcher with second-degree murder.

The parish coroner says Lacey Fletcher died at her parents' home in January. Deputies found the disabled woman on a sofa and surrounded by human filth at the home in Slaughter.

The Jefferson Parish Forensic Center ruled Fletcher's death a homicide caused by at least ten years of neglect.

Evidence indicated she had been on the couch for almost 12 years.
