Attorneys for Cynthia Perkins are asking for a change of venue for her upcoming trial.

They filed the motion Tuesday, claiming media coverage and pretrial publicity would jeopardize Perkins's right to a fair trial in Livingston Parish.

Perkins, along with her husband, former Livingston Parish deputy Dennis Perkins, is accused of rape, producing child porn, video voyeurism, sexual battery of a child under 13, and other charges.

Dennis Perkins is also accused of sexual abuse of an animal.

The couple has pleaded not guilty.
