The pink flamingos are back at the University Lakes in Spanish Town.
The handmade wooden birds appeared on Monday, signaling the beginning of Carnival season in Baton Rouge.
The annual tradition started in the 1980s as a way of calling attention to the Spanish Town Ball, which is scheduled for February 5.
The parade will hit the streets on February 26.
