Louisiana State University is tapping current University of South Carolina Provost William Tate, IV as the school's next President.
The LSU Board of Supervisors unanimously picked Williams over two other finalists on Thursday.
Williams with be the first Black President in LSU's history and will oversee an estimated 50,000 students at two four-year universities, one two-year institution, two medical schools, a law school, and an agricultural center.
Tate is from Chicago and will begin working for LSU in July.
