The Louisiana Department of Health said Tuesday that 21,652 people have completed their COVID-19 vaccine series by receiving a second shot, with 159,698 doses in total administered so far. 78,113 doses were given since last Thursday's update.
LDH reported 4,673 additional coronavirus cases overnight. The death toll increased by 53 to 7,971 with hospitalizations also up 53 to 2,035. Of those patients, 244 are on ventilators, 12 more than Monday.
The number of total COVID-19 cases in Louisiana since the pandemic began stood at 352,939.
