The capital city is hosting three food distribution events this weekend to help prepare for Thanksgiving.
City leaders say the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank will host a drive-thru food giveaway at the former Cortana Mall on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Additionally, community organizations will host a fresh food giveaway to students on the very same day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Capitol High School.
Officials say the final event, hosted by Kalexis Boutique, will give away 250 turkeys at Legacy on 14th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For that particular event, families are invited to drive up to the location to get their turkeys.
