Superintendent Colonel Kevin Reeves is retiring from Louisiana State Police after 30 years of service.

Gov. John Bel Edwards made the announcement today, saying Reeves' retirement will go into effect on October 30 and he will be naming a replacement in the coming days.

Reeves started his career with LSP in 1990 as a trooper on motorcycle patrols for Troop A in Baton Rouge.

He was appointed the 25th Superintendent of Louisiana State Police in March of 2017.
