The New Orleans Pelicans are bringing in a familiar name to fill their coaching vacancy.
ESPN reports Stan Van Gundy has agreed to become the Pelicans' next head coach.
He would replace Alvin Gentry, who was fired in August after New Orleans missed the playoffs for the fourth time in his five seasons at the helm.
Van Gundy has posted 523 career wins over his time with the Heat, Magic and Pistons.
He most recently coached Detroit from 2014-18, but missed the playoffs in three of the four years.
