Former Ascension Parish Deputy Wanted For Crimes Against Children

(Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office)

Just seven months after being released from prison, a former Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office deputy is once again accused of crimes involving children.

Police say Todd Tripp, 31, is wanted on three counts carnal knowledge of a juvenile, computer-aided solicitation of a minor, and unlawful use or access of social media.

Officials say they issued the warrant for Tripp's arrest after they received information earlier this week that the former deputy, now a registered sex offender, was having contact with a 16-year-old male juvenile who lives in another parish.

Detectives say they determined Tripp met the victim on a social media dating site under a false name and allegedly began actively engaging with the juvenile.

Investigators allege Tripp met with the juvenile on at least three different occasions and engaged in sexual activity.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
