The storm is on track to hit the southern Texas coast Saturday and tropical storm warnings are in effect for much of the Texas coast.

Hanna is expected to bring heavy rain and winds to the coast starting Friday.

Hanna is the earliest "H" named storm in history. The previous record was for Tropical Storm Harvey in 2005.
