The city of Baton Rouge says it will charge less for traffic fines issued over the past two to three months.

The Clerk of Courts announced yesterday that all violations not involving an accident can now be amended to a non-moving violation.

Fines will be lowered to $124 per citation unless in a school zone, and it will not affect driving records or count against insurance.

The change will remain in effect until July 31st.
