Fallen Louisiana State Trooper's Organs Donated To Help Save Others Lives

In what is being called a last act of selfless service, a Louisiana State Trooper killed in the line of duty is giving his organs so others may live.

Officials confirmed yesterday that Trooper George Baker's body was escorted by a caravan of LSP vehicles to North Oaks Medical Center yesterday to be evaluated for donation.

The 33-year-old LSP veteran and former U.S. Marine died on Sunday from injuries received during a high-speed pursuit last week in Hammond.

Doctors say over 2,000 patients in Louisiana are waiting for organs, and Baker could help save the lives of up to eight people with his donation.
