The Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge is going to resume worship services as early as this weekend.

The diocese made the announcement yesterday after Governor John Bel Edwards declared that he would be easing stay-at-home restrictions beginning Friday.

Officials say they expect all parishes to celebrate public Masses the weekend of May 23rd and 24th while adhering to occupancy limits, social distancing guidelines, and while properly sanitizing.

According to Bishop Michael Duca, all of those who fall into a vulnerable category or who are recovering from COVID-19 are urged to stay at home.
