Baton Rouge is set to receive over $3 million in grant money for coronavirus response

It's the result of the recently-passed CARES Act that was signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Money will be made available through three grant programs at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, namely the Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Solutions Grants Program, and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS.

The funds will be providing housing relief for some of the hardest-hit residents.
