Louisiana Senators Vote To Acquit President Trump

Sen. Lindsey Graham And GOP Lawmakers Hold News Conference To Discuss Opioid Epidemic Legislation

The historic impeachment trial is over with President Trump remaining in office.

Trump was acquitted on both charges yesterday after being impeached back in December for abuse of power and obstructing Congress.

Both Louisiana senators stuck with their fellow Republicans to vote not guilty on the charges and shared their thoughts on the results after the verdict was announced.

John Kennedy described the whole process as one being driven by "partisan rage," citing that "fairness matters in our country."

His colleague Bill Cassidy said his decision came after the House failed to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
