Children's Hospital Patients Receive Visit From Furry Friends On Christmas

A group of children at Our Lady of The Lake Children's Hospital is feeling a little better thanks to a special Christmas visit from a group of four-legged friends.

The Tiger Human Animals Therapy Service visited the hospital yesterday with a group of trained therapy dogs to help brighten the day for kids who had to spend Christmas away from their homes.

Multiple studies have shown the benefits of therapy animals in helping to aid the recovery of those recovering from long-term illnesses.

Tiger Human Animals Therapy Service or Tiger HATS is a community organization run by volunteers with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
