Officials say the Louisiana Office of Motor vehicles will remain closed until Monday following a cyber-attack earlier this week.

Governor John Bel Edwards announced yesterday that OMV offices would be closed throughout the weekend as state technology workers continue to clean computers from viruses.

State servers were hit on Monday in a ransomware attack that was stopped early but still affected over 100 of nearly 5,000 government servers.

Edwards said all current estimates from security experts show Monday as the date all systems should be back to normal.
