Casino Revenues Fall In September In Baton Rouge

Winnings by casinos in Baton Rouge are dropping.

The revenues in the city's market were down by 3.4% in September since last year but the decrease was much more narrow than what the Louisiana casino market experienced as a whole.

According to reports, the state's 15 riverboat casinos, four racinos and land-based casino were down to more than $183 million in winnings in September from $206 million a year ago.

The Louisiana Gaming Control Board believes casino winnings were hurt by September having four Saturdays this year instead of five like last year, as gambling goes up on the weekend.
