The Fort Worth police officer accused of shooting a Xavier University of Louisiana graduate inside her home is being charged with murder.

According to Tarrant County Jail records, Aaron Dean was booked yesterday on a charge of murder and later bonded out after posting $200,000 bail.

Fort Worth Police Chief Ed Kraus also confirmed yesterday that he was about to fire Dean, but Dean resigned from the department instead.

Dean is charged with murder in connection to the death of Atatiana Jefferson, who was shot by Fort Worth police conducting a welfare check last Saturday.
