Recently released rankings by the Wall Street Journal show LSU has increased its standings since last year.
The school is currently rated the 295th best school among 500 public and private universities, up from number 352 last year.
Among all public universities, it's ranked 84th, and it's 6th overall in the SEC.
Tulane was the highest ranked school in the state, coming in at 84th overall, dropping nearly 30 spots from last year.
Loyola University and Xavier University both were also included on the list of the top 500 schools.
