Louisiana's Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control is accepting applications from retail businesses interested in residential alcoholic beverage delivery.

State lawmakers recently passed two bills allowing restaurants, grocery stores, package stores and third-party agents to deliver factory-sealed adult beverages directly to a consumer's doorstep.

Businesses applying for the permit are required to have a physical location in Louisiana that is already licensed to sell alcohol.

The ATC will likely issue the first permits to distribute alcohol directly to a consumer's doorstep in early August.
