Federal Charges Dropped For Two Tulane University Professors

Gavel And Scales Of Justice On Desk In Law Office

Two Tulane University professors are no longer facing federal charges for allegedly attempting to steal trade secrets.

The U.S. Attorney's office said the dismissal of charges against Ehab Meselhe and Kelin Hu were due to a failure to meet its own burden of proof.

In May, a grand jury handed down a seven-count indictment related to trade secret theft around a program called the Basin Wide Model, developed by the Water Institute of Baton Rouge.

Tulane has not commented on the employment status of either professor.
