Tribute Concert Held For New Orleans Music Icon Dr. John

Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival - Day 1

Music fans in New Orleans are continuing to celebrate the memory of Dr. John with tributes to the six-time Grammy winner and member of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

One tribute concert was held last night at Kermit's Mother-In-Law Lounge in Treme featuring piano players from across the New Orleans area with free red beans and rice.

Dr. John, who was born Malcolm John Rebennack in 1944, grew up in the Third Ward and passed away last week from a heart attack.
