The Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program is granting $15 million to the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport.

It's the second largest grant awarded across the nation, and Louisiana officials say this is a big victory for both visitors and residents of South Louisiana.

Lafayette Regional Airport will also receive $10.5 million for improvements as part of the FAA's grant program.

President Trump signed legislation back in March that gives funding to the program, allowing grants to be issued to select airports.
