ExxonMobil Investing Big Money In Baton Rouge Plant Expansion

ExxonMobil will be pumping more money into its Baton Rouge operations.

Company officials announced Monday that $500 million will be spent toward construction of a new polypropylene plant at its Polyolefins facility on Scenic Highway. Plant manager Stephen Hamilton says expansion work will begin next year, creating more than 60 new jobs.

The new addition will produce more than 450,000 tons of polypropylene plastics used for such things as car parts, food packaging and recyclables.
