Judge Will Not Allow Certain Witness Statements In Max Gruver Hazing Trial

Witness statements alleging the late fraternity pledge Max Gruver was a habitual marijuana smoker and excessive drinker will not be allowed.

Today, the judge in the hazing case denied the defense team's motions to include the statements from numerous witnesses. The judge doesn't believe the witness statements provide enough proof that Gruver's actions were routine.

Matthew Naquin, a former LSU student, is facing a negligent homicide charge after Gruver died from alcohol poisoning related to a fraternity hazing ritual. The next hearing for Naquin will be on May 13th.
