Stalled Downtown BR Library Construction Getting Infusion Of Cash

You should see work resuming shortly on the River Center Branch Library.

It was halted almost a year ago and the immediate area evacuated temporarily due to construction woes blamed on the faulty welding of beams supporting the cantilever.

Yesterday, the Metro Council voted approval of a $2.7 million change order on the project that will be funded by the Library Board of Control.

The city is hoping to get the money back through a lawsuit filed against the architects and contractors.
