Flames, Smoke Swallow Up Historic New Orleans Home

(New Orleans, LA) -- New Orleans firefighters are battling a blaze thats ripping through a historic home on St. Charles Avenue. Crews have been battling a seven-alarm fire at "The Rex House", where the carnival krewe stops and toasts each year on Mardi Gras. Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell says parts of the residence are barely being held up and are in danger of crumbling. At this time, it is not clear how the fire started.
